Flight 26) Kasulu – Mbala

This leg of the adventure should have been a relatively short cruise south to another stepping stone runway. However, due to my need to refuel in Burundi this leg took me the entire length of Lake Tanganyika from north to south.

The journey was pleasant enough with no real incidents to report. I saw a selection of smaller boats travelling the lake however I am sure in reality this boats would have been much cruder constructions than the small motorised ones I saw in the simulator.

A few years ago I owned a tropical fish tank and often wondered where these fish would live in the wild. It was hard for me to imagine waters so readily full of colour without them being artificially bred. As it turns out, a large percentage of tropical fish we keep in tanks originate from lakes such as these.
