Forests coated the landscape below me on this flight which is a pleasant change from the endless miles of sand. The weather became a lot cloudier too. Some of the clouds looked exceedingly dark but despite the threat of rain it stayed dry.
I wasn’t expecting much from this stop off as it seemed incredibly disconnected from anywhere else. The airport was in a small decline in the landscape with the city to the south. I suppose the Nile must be their main form of transport but it is hard for me to imagine how the city began and how it grew to the size it is today.
Despite the first impression, the video from YouTube gave it a real personality and I have enjoyed my time learning about Juba.
